Carolyne Hawley

Born in the heartland of America, Carolyne Hawley was raised on a rural farm outside Chicago, Illinois. Horses in particular captured her artistic interest at an early age. Beginning with sketches and progressing to oils, Carolyne began establishing her future as a renowned equine artist. With her young family, Carolyne migrated to Southern California, to settle in the magnificent desert surrounding the Palm Springs area. She continued to pursue her artistic talents, honing in on the powerful interpretations of horses for which she is known, and accumulating an acclaimed collection of Western influence paintings. Carolyne attributes a major artistic influence to the late Burt Proctor, a founder of the Laguna Arts Pageant, and has also studied under the tutelage of Emily Touraine, Donald ‘Putt’ Puttman, Martha Sauduk, Neil Boyle and Ron McKee. Carolyne resides on a small ranch in the high desert near Palm Springs where she paints in her studio, rides her horse, and teaches workshops in the area.
