Fani Parlapani

Fani Parlapani was born in Rhodes, Greece, in 1939. Her talent for painting was recognized from a very early age.

She studied painting in Paris and London, and continued onto Italy where she took part in various exhibitions in Florence and Bologna. Although she fell in love with the Italian landscape and coastline, she returned to her native Greece where she found the greatest inspiration for her painting. Her style is free and flowing, full of vivid color and texture. She works with the palette knife, and with every stroke she creates movement and depth. Her paintings are soft as if you could feel the gentle breezes blowing from the Mediterranean.

Today Parlapani lives in Athens and she has dedicated herself to painting her country's beautiful landscape, the coastline, with authentic fishing villages, romantic islands and harbors. With every stroke of the knife she expresses admiration for nature and her love for her land.
