When Dy’Ans was just five years old
she proclaimed that she wished to be a famous artist when she grew up.
Indeed she has transformed her childhood dream into an impressive international
career. The unique ability she possesses to capture the radiance of the
sea, its light and its shadow, in such a way to show both its power and
its grace, has set her apart from other painters of the sea. Dy’Ans is
a relentless achiever. The unequalled style and meticulous technique require
months of careful work before she is ready to sign a painting. “When I
sign a painting,” she says, “I am proud of the result. It inspires me
to unroll the next canvas and create further. It is like an endless happy
journey, always looking forward to a new port. When I hear one of my paintings
having found a new home, I know I have given them life so they can stand
on their own.”
Her paintings grace the walls of many
fine art collections such as former presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald
Reagan, as well as some of Hollywood’s finest including Bob Hope and Burt
Reynolds. Dy’Ans was also named Artist of the Year by the National Marine
Conservatory and is a recipient of the Montalvo Art Society Scholarship.
