TEHILA P. EISENSTAT
American
Growing up up by ther Mediterranean Sea, Tehila began her
artistic career as a child, watching the beautiful color changes at sunset.
"I think that is where I started to see and understand colors, and
to become inspired by them to paint. Painting gives me joy, using the
colors of nature to create a mood and capture the mystery and drama I
see."
Tehila studied art history, painting, architecture and design.
She came to the United States in 1970 and fell in love with the Pacific
Coast and the Monterey Peninsula, where she resides. She has studied impressionist
painting in France, and San Francisco, as well as with Joyce Pike, and
Charles Movali. She is inspired by the French and early Californian Impressionists.
Tehila works mostly with oil and acrylic, and has a broad range of subjects.
Tehila travels extensively to teach and lecture. On her
journeys she also discovers new techniques and inspirations for her paintings
She also teaches in her Carmel studio and El Camino Hospital in Mountain
View, where she founded "Creative Expressions" (Painting classes
for cancer patients). Her works are shown in galleries in California,
and in private collections around the world.
